Janet E. (Arnold) Abell, 62, of St. Leonard, formerly of Hollywood, died May 4, 2008, of chronic lung disease at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
She was a retired federal government employee with the administrative offices of the United States Courts Administration in Washington, D.C.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Stephen I. Abell of St. Leonard; two brothers, Jack A. Arnold of Mt. Morris, Mich., and Rolland Arnold of Jacksonville, Fla.; her son, Robert Wade Abell; her grandson, Robert Stephen Abell; and several nieces and nephews in Michigan, Florida and Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Vivian and Mrs. Maxine Arnold of Mt. Morris.
The family will receive friends May 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home in Leonardtown, with prayers being said at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held May 9 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Raymond Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church cemetery.
