A judge ordered Wednesday that Patrick S. Daly Jr., 18, of Lexington Park remain jailed in lieu of $10,000 bond on charging papers alleging he threatened the day before to set fire to his family’s home. Barbara Daly told police that she ordered her son’s friends, who were disrupting the family’s dinner, to leave the Midway Drive residence, and that he told her that if she ever threw him out of the house he would burn it down, St. Mary’s sheriff’s deputy David Corcoran wrote in a statement of probable cause.

The suspect repeated the statement when he was questioned by sheriff’s deputies, charging papers allege, and he said to them, ‘‘I have nowhere else to go, and if she throws me out, I’ll burn this house down.”

Assault on deputy alleged

William K. Trossbach, 46, of Lexington Park was jailed this week in lieu of $50,000 bond on charging papers alleging he attempted to drive away from a sheriff’s deputy, dragging the officer down a road.

Sheriff’s deputy Kevin P. Meyer, who had reached into the Ford van to turn it off, eventually broke free and out of the path of the fleeing vehicle, according to charging papers from the incident that occurred Monday at a Great Mills Road intersection.

Meyer had questioned the driver of the vehicle after it almost hit the officer and another deputy’s cruiser, charging papers state, and after Meyer’s brief entanglement, a third lawman pursued the fleeing vehicle to the suspect’s nearby residence and arrested him.

Trossbach was jailed on charges including first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, failing to obey police, drunk driving and other traffic offenses.
