Chopticon’s FBLA, CSM earn career, tech honors

The Career and Technology Education Awards of Excellence program recognizes the outstanding contributions of business partnerships, career and technology education leaders, student organizations, and programs as they work together to prepare students for further education and careers in the contemporary workforce in Maryland.
Chopticon High School was honored for its FBLA program as an outstanding career technology education student organization.
Also, Ann Smith, who is the retired dean of career and technology education at the College of Southern Maryland, was honored in the category of postsecondary distinguished service.
