Edna N. Allen, 71, Charlotte Hall

Mrs. Allen was a bank teller. She resided in this area for 14 years. She was a member of Hughesville Baptist Church, Women’s Ministry and Bible Study. She enjoyed gardening, landscaping, sewing and traveling. Her husband retired from the U.S. Air Force so they traveled and lived around the world.

Born Feb. 22, 1937, in Clarendon, N.C., she was the daughter of the late John H. and the late Lula Long Norris.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Burton Allen Jr.; sister, Levonia Starnes of Wilmington, N.C.; brother, James Norris of Clarendon, N.C.; and numerous friends and relatives in Maryland and throughout the country.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of life celebration at noon May 9 at Hughesville Baptist Church, Hughesville. The Rev. Keith Corrick will officiate. Burial will take place at noon May 12 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City, N.C. Pallbearers will be Harry Arnold, Charles Jordan, Jim Thorne, Jim Waybright, Jim Price and Dick Williams.
