Roberts recognized for top performance at BB&T
Olga Roberts, a mortgage loan officer for BB&T in Waldorf, has achieved the firm’s highest designation as a Sterling Performer for 2006.

Associates completenutritional training
Isagenix independent associates Gary Summers and Pam Tall of Charlotte Hall recently completed three days of product and business training at Isagenix University in Phoenix, Ariz. Some 400 Isagenix associates attended the event from April 20 through 22.
Participants received training from associates who had developed million-dollar businesses as well as training sessions on nutritional cleansing, the company’s IsaDermix skin care system and new Web marketing tools, according to a press release.
Isagenix, based in Chandler, Ariz., develops and manufactures systems for weight management, longevity and skin care that are distributed through an independent network of nearly 160,000 associates in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Hong Kong. After five years in business, the company reports annual sales exceeding $120 million.
Smith joins SMBN
The Southern Maryland Business Network recently welcomed new member Winston Smith Jr. of Happy Heart Wellness Center in White Plains.
The center provides private personal training and its staff has more than 10 years of experience, according to a press release. They combine personal training with nutritional information and seated chair message. Happy Heart Wellness also offers an outside group personal training program three times a week.
SMBN is an independent, nonprofit, self-directed organization. Members are a ‘‘virtual sales force” for other members by exchanging business referrals and developing new business relationships. The network is promoted through direct contact, chamber of commerce events, marketing materials, press releases, community calendar and a Web site. Meetings are held from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays at Southwinds Adult Active Community off Billingsley Road on Southwinds Place. Raymond to representfuneral industryat veterans cemetery
Michael Raymond of Raymond Funeral Service in La Plata was recently confirmed as the funeral industry representative to the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham.
On March 29, he received notification from Edward Olive, chairman of Cheltenham Trust, that he had been recommended to the secretary of the Maryland Department of Veteran Affairs and confirmed by Gov. Martin O’Malley (D). The appointment carries a term of four years.
Martin F. Fahey, superintendent of the veterans cemetery, said in a press release that he, the Volunteer Trust Committee and the staff at the cemetery look forward to Raymond’s assistance and recommendations. Fahey also said having an industry representative on the committee is important to having a successful working relationship with each other.
