Brewhouse Live will host Shane Hines & the Trance on May 17 at 403 E. Charles St., La Plata. On the Web at www.brewhouselive.com. Hines grabbed the attention of MTV with his original song ‘‘My Hope Is.” Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Power Jam
Power Jam Music Alliance presents Spring Fest 2008 at Room with a Brew May 17. Bands include Johnnys Dead, Darken Prophecy, Cataleptic Burial, Kindness of Strangers, Prometheus, Charmparticles, Trulesance, The Jealousy Game, Jon Garcia, Hey Euphony, Hotspur, and American Diary. U.S Navy Band singer
A concert of American music featuring U.S. Navy Band soloist Edward Daryl Duff will be performed at Grace Brethren Church of Calvert County at 6 p.m. May 18. Duff and his family work with Olive Branch International, which sponsors summer camps for teenagers of Ukrainian military families. A love offering will be taken. A cosmic symphony
Under the direction of Vladimir Lande, COSMIC Symphony will pair music with art for its final performances of the season. As part of the ‘‘Do You See What I Hear?” program, artworks created by elementary, middle and high schools students visually interpreting music on the concert program will be shown. Performances are at 7 p.m. May 17 at Great Mills High School in Great Mills, and at 4 p.m. May 18 at Huntingtown High School in Huntingtown.
