P.G. cops patrol street race areas

District IV officers from the Prince George’s County Police Department stepped up patrols around illegal street racing venues the weekend of May 17, according to a release from the department.
The scheduled enforcement focused on the Route 210 corridor, where officers maintained high visibility, conducting traffic stops and issuing both warnings and citations during the course of the night. The enforcement action yielded 30 traffic stops, 30 speeding citations, 45 traffic citations, eight warnings, two impounded cars and two juvenile contact reports of youths involved in questionable activities.
The anti-street racing operation will continue throughout the summer at various Prince George’s County locations known for racing and speeding, according to the release.
