Liquid Jazz raises money, awareness

Friday, June 5, 2009

Calvert Healthcare Solutions recently held its sixth annual Liquid Jazz event at Friday's Creek Winery. With a beautiful day in a gorgeous county, our community came together to toast our healthcare providers and dedicated volunteers for providing access and primary healthcare to many local residents for whom health insurance is an unaffordable luxury.

As our national and state leadership debate where we go next with financing healthcare, our organization has, since 2001, held the line on the growing number of low income uninsured residents in Calvert County.

We wish to thank everyone who sustains us through their volunteer efforts and generosity. PNC Bank, Comcast and CareFirst and many others helped us through Liquid Jazz sponsorships. Thanks also to Mary Louise Wisniewski, Alan Wilson, Ray Noble, Margina Bourne and Thembi Edwards for making Liquid Jazz a big success.

We sincerely appreciate our community partners; Calvert Memorial Hospital, Calvert County Health Department, Department of Social Services and our local physicians for their daily contributions to our efforts. Anyone wishing to help can contact us at 443-550-6927 or visit our Web site, www.calverthealthcare.org.
