Unexpected visitor Friday, June 6, 2008
No one was injured after the driver of a Ford pickup accidentally drove into the front of the Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative building in White Plains Wednesday morning, according to SMECO’s Electric Operations and Construction Manager Bill Lawman. Police were called to the scene around 10:37 a.m. for the crash, which occurred after a SMECO customer, who had just paid his bill, mistakenly ran over the front curb, through a low brick partition and dented the front doors of the building. Gilroy’s Towing in White Plains handled the removal of the vehicle from the building. Charles County sheriff’s officer R. Herbert is investigating.
