Sisline Anthony, 75, of Great Mills said she was leaving her house to drive to a cemetery Tuesday morning when her car accelerated on its own, would not stop and crashed into another house in her neighborhood. "The car started to speed up. I tried to put it into reverse," she said at the scene of the mishap on Edge Mill Court. "I drove into the ditch, to see if it would stop in the ditch, but it didn't. It went straight into the garage."Robert Thibeault said he wasn't home when the Mitsubishi Lancer hit his house, but his neighbors called him and he responded to let his German shepherd out of the damaged residence. "The dog was the only one home," he said. Lexington Park rescue volunteers responding to the scene with Bay District volunteer firefighters made sure that the woman was OK. Bay District Assistant Chief Joe Gould is pictured retrieving Anthony's purse from the car.
