Babies aborted are sacrificed for lifestyle, not health reasons

Friday, June 19, 2009

Along with "Thou shalt not kill," the Bible speaks against lying and dishonesty.

In Katharina von Kellenbach's letter, "Nowhere in the Bible is there a statement prohibiting abortion" [Maryland Independent, June 12], Ms. Kellenbach is neither intellectually honest or accurate in her characterization of the pro-life movement; and her mischaracterization is for the purpose of promoting her own views.

First, let me say that I am not a religious studies scholar, degreed professor or seminary graduate. I'm just a church attending, Bible believing, John Chapter 3 born-again Christian. And in John Chapter 3, right after Jesus says, "You must be born again," he says this to Nicodemus; "You are Israel's teacher, and do you not understand these things? I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?"

Nicodemus was a "religious studies scholar" and yet understood nothing of the ways of God. The same appears true for Ms. Kellenbach; and as Jesus replied to the Sadducees in Matthew 22:29, "You are in error because you do not know the scriptures or the power of God."

Ms. Kellenbach quotes the commandment "Thou shalt not kill," which she should know is properly translated "thou shalt not murder" (as it is in the New International Version and other translations) or as "Thou shalt not take innocent life." At the time this commandment was written, medical abortion was not the common way of dealing with unwanted children, human sacrifice was.

The Bible speaks emphatically that you are "not to pass your sons thru the fire" by sacrificing them to the god Mollech.

When a man's wife delivered a girl and he wanted a boy, he could "solve the problem" by pretending to be pious and donate the child to the local pervert priest to incinerate. The unwanted child is disposed of and the man even gets atta-boys from the congregation for his "great personal sacrifice." The real truth is that most babies aborted today are sacrificed for lifestyle and not health reasons.

"There are six things the Lord hates, yea seven that are detestable to Him ... hands that shed innocent blood" (Proverbs 6:17).
