Indictments

A Charles County grand jury has issued the following indictments:

Michael Kirk Smith, 39, currently residing in the Charles County jail, was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of theft of more than $500, two counts of malicious destruction of property valued at more than $500 and fourth-degree burglary for events that occurred Oct. 13 and 14.

Demetrius Joel Glover, 17, of Waldorf was charged as an adult with first-degree murder, concealing a dangerous weapon and attempted robbery with a deadly weapon for events that occurred May 27.

George Sherman Proctor, 37, of Port Tobacco was charged with two counts of second-degree assault and malicious destruction of property valued at less than $500 for events that occurred April 9.

Joseph Travis Sloan, 39, of unknown address, was charged with theft of more than $500 and second-degree escape for events that occurred May 2.

Derek Anthony Carroll, 23, of Waldorf was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to distribute and drug possession for events that occurred May 5.

Adrian Carlos Farris, 20, of Waldorf was charged with two counts of drug possession with intent to distribute, drug possession, marijuana possession and possession of narcotics production equipment for events that occurred May 26.

James Lee Gross, 22, of Brandywine was charged with theft of more than $500, unlawfully taking a motor vehicle, conspiracy to commit theft of more than $500 and conspiracy to unlawfully take a motor vehicle for events that occurred April 28.

Ban Kim, 30, of Alexandria, Va., was charged with first- and second-degree assault for events that occurred Aug. 28.

Ashley Erin Midgett, 19, of Waldorf was charged with theft of more than $500, unlawfully taking a motor vehicle, conspiracy to commit theft of more than $500 and conspiracy to unlawfully take a motor vehicle for events that occurred April 28.

Carterrys Abednega Morgan, 18, of Waldorf was charged with three counts of first-degree burglary, two counts of theft of more than $500, malicious destruction of property valued at less than $500, malicious destruction of property valued at more than $500, attempted first-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary for events that occurred Nov. 24 and April 3.

James Westley Rainey, 39, of Marbury was charged with three counts of sexual child abuse and three counts of second-degree rape for events that occurred April 11, 17 and 25.

Benjamin William Thomas, 18, of Waldorf was charged with theft of more than $500, unlawfully taking a motor vehicle, conspiracy to commit theft of more than $500 and conspiracy to unlawfully take a motor vehicle for events that occurred April 28.

John Christopher Valenti, 44, of Waldorf was charged with indecent exposure for events that occurred May 26.
