Community meetings have been scheduled to discuss the St. Mary’s comprehensive plan, which was adopted in 2002. State law requires that counties review their comprehensive plans at least every six years.
The first two meetings will be on Wednesday, July 9, at Lettie Dent Elementary School in Charlotte Hall; and Thursday, July 10, at the Seventh District Fire Department in Avenue. Other meetings will be held at Leonardtown Middle School, the Lexington Park library and Ridge Elementary School.
The meetings will begin at 7 p.m. Comments on this plan and the process are also welcome by writing to the Board of County Commissioners, P.O. Box 653, Leonardtown, MD 20650; or at bocc@stmarysmd.com.
The document is available at www.stmarysmd.com. Click on ‘‘Land Use Growth Management” under the ‘‘Services” box. Then click on ‘‘Comprehensive Planning.” Then click on ‘‘Comprehensive Plan.”
