Music on the square
Downtown Tunes will feature three acoustic bands from 6-9:30 p.m. June 28 on the square in Leonardtown. The event is free. The opening band, Fortune’s Turn, is a five-piece, local bluegrass-folk outfit. The second act, Hamm-It-Ups, mixes oldies and contemporary tunes. Headlining, Celtic Knott has opened for Gordon Lightfoot and James Taylor. Bring lawn chairs and blankets. Call 301-904-4452.
Singing for hospice
Scarlet Plus Karaoke and DJ will host the 14th annual Karaoke for Hospice from 2-11 p.m. June 28 at FOP Lodge 7 on Chancellor’s Run Road in Great Mills. There will be karaoke from 2-7 p.m. and a dance from 7-11 p.m. Karaoke singers must raise $25. Proceeds benefit the Hospice House of St. Mary’s, in memory of Mark Lee O’Connor. Call 301-994-0592.
Movie under the stars
‘‘Raiders of the Lost Ark” will be shown for free on June 28 at the county courthouse, 175 Main St., Prince Frederick. The band Rockfish will play at 8 p.m. The movie begins at 9 p.m. Call 301-855-9958.
Great Train Robbery
The Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department will host a parade, music and fireworks at 7:30 p.m. June 30 to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The parade is on Mervell Dean Road. The classic rock band Great Train Robbery performs until 9:30 p.m., when the fireworks are scheduled to start. Bring lawn chairs. The department is at 24801 Three Notch Road, Hollywood.
