Upcoming workshops offered by the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum might interest the budding artist or photographer.
Called the "SecretSeries — Learning From the Experts," the sessions tap into some of the professional talent found in the area. The workshops offer young people an opportunity to work with and learn from professionals in hands-on activities and one-on-one encounters. Classes, which will be held in the conference room at the museum, are open to students entering grades 6 through 12.
The first workshop, "Secrets of Drawing Great Pictures for Students" will be held with artist Hank Caruso from 12:30 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 18. This workshop is for students with a strong interest in drawing and painting.
The second workshop, "Secrets to Taking Great Photographs for Students" with photographer Bill Conway, will be held from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1.
There is a $15 cost for each class to cover the cost of class materials.
To register, call the museum office at 301-863-1900 or e-mail association@paxmuseum.
