Prayer breakfast set weekly
An Interdenominational prayer breakfast is held every Thursday from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 a.m. in Building 401 at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Sponsored by the Religious Programming Office, the breakfast is open to everyone.
Webster Field gate closed
The main gate at Webster Field is closed for installation of antiterrorism and force protection improvements. The project will take about six to eight weeks to complete. Gate 2, located on Beachville Road, will be open 24 hours a day during the equipment installation. All visitors who require credentials must go to the pass and ID office, located at Building 8133, before proceeding to Gate 2.
Contracts awarded
The following contracts have been awarded by the Department of Defense:
Eagan, McAllister Associates of Lexington Park has been awarded a $37 million contract to provide tactical command and control integration and improvement support services for multiple DoD and other agencies. Twenty percent of the work will be performed at Pax.
BAE Systems Technology Solutions and Services received a $10 million contract for the procurement and installation of a 55 civil global positioning system with electronic flight bag for the C-130T aircraft. This provides for the procurement of 45 install kits, 23 instrument display systems and 45 engine instrument display systems. Ten percent of the work will be performed in California and is expected to be completed in September 2011.
Rockwell Collins of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has received a $5.6 million contract to provide the development, installation, configuration and testing necessary to upgrade the existing Trusted Solaris 8 in the E6-B Block I workstations to Solaris 10 with trusted network extensions and replace the Scalable Processor Architecture Processor with an Intel processor equivalent. Five percent of the work will be performed at Pax River and is expected to be completed in August 2010.
