Thomas Austin "Tom" Dyer, 89, of Mechanicsville died June 15, 2009, at Civista Medical Center, La Plata.
Mr. Dyer was a foreman for Maryland State Highway Administration. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Good Sam Club.
Born March 28, 1920, in Dentsville he was the son of the late Julian G. and the late Beatrice Gardiner Dyer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Margaret Lynch and Julian Dyer.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Julia G. Dyer of Mechanicsville; children, Joan L. Woods and Linda D. Hockett, both of Mechanicsville, and Thomas J. Dyer of Robinson, Texas; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Genevieve Baden of Port Tobacco and Lucy Burch of Hughesville.
Service and burial were private.
Arrangements were handled by Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, Charlotte Hall.
