Digging in on Chancellor’s Run Road Wednesday, July 9, 2008
In Great Mills, construction continues where Chancellor’s Run Road crosses Jarboesville Run and the road is closed to a single lane during weekday afternoons. Some night work was done this week to replace a diversion pipe under the road. The roadway will eventually be heightened there in the overall $62-million project to add two more lanes of traffic, a median and shoulders to the state road. The clearing around the stream is to make more room for work crews, said a Maryland State Highway Administration spokesman. Work began in May and the project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2010.
