Rescue crews from Solomons, St. Leonard and Hollywood volunteer fire departments extracted a woman and her two children from their vehicle after a two-vehicle collision Friday morning at the intersection of Route 2⁄4 and the Navy Recreation Center in Solomons, according to Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Col. Thomas Hejl. The three were flown to hospitals and deputies drove the uninjured father to see his children at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. The driver of a Cadillac drove onto Route 4, failing to grant right of way to the Chevrolet Cavalier that was carrying the family of four from Glen Burnie. The driver of the Cadillac was given a citation for failing to yield right of way.
