Three people were injured in a crash Saturday on St. Charles Parkway.

Three people were flown by helicopter from the scene of an accident at the intersection of St. Charles Parkway and Leonardtown Road the evening of July 19, according to Diane Richardson, spokeswoman for the Charles County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 6 p.m., the driver of a Dodge truck, an 18-year-old man from Waldorf, lost control while traveling across Leonardtown Road onto St. Charles Parkway, Richardson said.

The truck went airborne, crossed the grass median and hit a Jaguar coming from the opposite direction, according to Richardson.

The driver of the Jaguar, a 69-year-old man from Waldorf and two occupants of the truck, the driver and a 14-year-old girl, also of Waldorf, were flown by Maryland State Police helicopters to Prince George’s Hospital Center in Cheverly, where they were treated for injuries, Richardson said.

Police did not release the names of the victims.

According to Richardson, the driver of the truck suffered broken bones in the accident.
