Get your motor running to the Charles County fairgrounds Aug. 2 for a car show fundraiser which will benefit the care of a local teen who has been battling a rare form of cancer since he was 14.
Josh Medlin, a North Point High School student, was diagnosed with desmoplastic small round blue cell cancer in 2006 and has been undergoing treatment since, including stays at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C., and surgery at New York’s Sloane-Kettering Cancer Center.
Josh’s form of cancer is so rare only 100 cases of it have been reported worldwide.
The fundraiser, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the fairgrounds in Bel Alton, is being hosted by the Tri-County Cruisers Rod and Custom Car Club and will feature cars and bikes on display. In addition to the hot rods, street rods, motorcycles and custom cars, there will be a moon bounce, face painting, antiques and a deejay.
Registration the day of the show is $15.
