(Breaking news) Leonardtown man drowns in Breton Bay

A Leonardtown area man apparently drowned Sunday afternoon, authorities report, after he waded into Breton Bay from Abell's Wharf and disappeared.
Alejandro Bardales Ortiz, 39, was no longer breathing when a friend and other people at the scene found him at about 2:30 p.m. in water that was six feet deep, according to St. Mary's detectives. The people at the scene tried to revive Ortiz before he was taken to St. Mary's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives report that there are no indications of foul play in the man's death.
