Wednesday, Sept. 10 The meeting will be televised live on cable Channel 95 and repeated at 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Friday and Sunday. 2 p.m. Public hearing on VanGO annual plan fiscal 2010. 2:30 p.m. County business — Recognition of the department of fiscal and administrative services-information technology for being 2008 Digital Counties Survey Winner. Selection of attorney for Other Post-Employment Benefits trust fund. Budget transfer request for $1,200,000, capital projects, new library construction. 3:15 p.m. New business. 3:30 p.m. Work session on proposed cable ordinance amendments. Fourth and Fifth Districts Democratic Club of Charles County will meet Sept. 8 at Shymansky’s Restaurant, Cobb Island. Charles County commissioners’ Vice President Edith J. Patterson (D) will hold a focus group meeting concerning future affordable housing possibilities in the Nanjemoy area of Charles County. The focus group will be made up of individuals from the Nanjemoy area, but the public is also encouraged to attend and listen to the ideas that are discussed. Items on the agenda include a crab harvest report, reports from the oyster⁄clam and crab advisory committees, the adoption of 2008-’09 oyster season dates, times and limits and a delinquent seafood catch report hearing. Charles County branch of the NAACP will hold its next general meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at the SMECO building, U.S. 301, White Plains. Sen. Thomas ‘‘Mac” Middleton (D-Charles) will be the speaker. Membership forms will be available for anyone who would like to join the NAACP.
