Camp Springs resident Susie O’Connell holds back a tear as she looks at one of the last photos taken of her son Patrick, an Army first lieutenant, before he left for Iraq last July. More than 50 volunteers gathered at the Titan Corp. building in Lexington Park on Saturday to help create scrapbooks and raise money to send phone cards to military personnel stationed overseas. In the background is O’Connell’s daughter, Jennifer, who traveled to St. Mary’s from her Florida home to participate in the event with her mother.
