Representatives from 25⁄7 Productions, a company in California with a production facility in Los Angeles, have announced a casting call for 18- to 25-year-olds for supporting roles for a ‘‘Laguna Beach”-type television series that will be shot in St. Mary’s County.
The number of people to be cast for the production’s supporting roles is uncertain, according to Yong Yam of 25⁄7 Productions. ‘‘We’re going to build the show out of what we find in St. Mary’s,” she said Monday. ‘‘It depends on what we find there.”
Yam said they are looking for aspiring actors though ‘‘we’re not limited to actors” and charismatic, adventurous young people and people with water and boating skills. ‘‘They just have to be themselves,” she said, as far as the acting skills required. St. Mary’s was chosen ‘‘because we wanted a small town,” Yam said. ‘‘We looked into a lot of different small towns and chose St. Mary’s. It has the best feel for what we’re trying to achieve in our show.”
Shooting will begin this month. ‘‘We want to get as much turnout as possible,” she said of the casting call this Saturday. ‘‘Everyone’s welcome to come by.” The casting call will be held Saturday, Oct. 11, from noon to 7 p.m. at The BayNet office, 45370 Alton Lane, Suite 301, in California. Participants should e-mail headshots of themselves along with personal information to casting1@257tv.com.
