A police pursuit of two men in a car, stolen in Calvert, that had rammed an officer's cruiser ended with the arrest of the duo in Charles County after a foot chase Oct. 2, according to a report from the Charles County Sheriff's Office.
At 9:06 p.m., sheriff's officers saw a suspicious car in the parking lot of St. Charles Towne Center in Waldorf, and a computer check showed the car had been reported stolen in Calvert County. Officers tried to stop the car, but the driver fled, according to police.
The stolen car struck a vehicle on Crain Highway near Route 5 and continued north, where it rammed a police cruiser, police reported. The driver continued a short distance until officers disabled the car. The driver and passenger jumped out of the car and tried to run away, but were apprehended a short distance away.
Demetri D. Farrell and Alan Terrell Rhodes, both 21, of Upper Marlboro were arrested. Farrell was charged with 17 counts of traffic violations, theft, first-degree assault and destruction of property. Rhodes was charged with theft and resisting arrest.
