CSM Foundation’s golf tourney raises $62,000 Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006
The College of Southern Maryland Foundation’s 15th annual Golf Classic raised $62,000 and had a field of 144 participants Aug. 24 at Swan Point Yacht and Country Club in Issue. The tournament’s proceeds will support CSM’s athletic programs, specifically helping with uniform replacement, major equipment purchases, scholarships and travel funds for the athletes. Tournament winners include the first-place team sponsored by Primary Residential Mortgage of Eric Grainger, David Ashton, Warren Teets and Derek Johnson. The second-place team sponsored by Community Bank of Tri-County was Greg Cockerham, Jim Dimisa, Joseph O’Neill and Gordon O’Neill III. The third-place team sponsored by Mirant was Reggie Brown, Tommy Buckler, Darol Buck and Walter Johnson. In its 15 years, this event has provided more than $400,000 for various projects and programs at the college.
