Curley to head builders group
Edward "Guy" R. Curley III, president of Liberty Home Builder, a residential construction and development firm in Great Mills, has been elected president of The Maryland-National Capital Building Industry Association for 2010. Curley will be installed as president Jan. 28 along with the other members of the executive committee and board of directors. Curley has been an active MNCBIA board member since 2001.
Farmers estate workshop planned
The Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission will host a free advanced estate planning workshop 6 p.m. Nov. 9 in the SMECO auditorium in Hughesville.
The workshop will stress the importance of estate planning to protect the family farm and financial assets from excessive taxation. Topics include selling or keeping the farm business in the family and transferring assets within the family. For more information, contact SMADC at 301-274-1922.
