Dwayne N. Odemns, 48, of Washington, D.C., died Oct. 24, 2009, in Washington, D.C.

Born May 3, 1961, he was the son of Charles and Mozell Odemns.

He was educated in public schools in Washington, D.C. He worked for Simmons Security and Minnesota Avenue Florist.

He is survived by his daughter, Keywanna Hutton; his sister, Charlene Griggs; his brother, Michael Odemns; his brother-in-law, James Griggs; his sister-in-law, Mary-Anna Odemns; three grandchildren, Donyea Hutton, Kia Hutton and Kendra Hutton; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family received friends and a service was held Nov. 5 at Holy Christian House of Praise. The Rev. Stephen Young Sr. officiated. Interment took place at Heritage Cemetery in Waldorf.

Arrangement were handled by Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home in Waldorf.
