Baseball and softball

The Potomac Warriors 13-U baseball travel team will be holding tryouts Dec. 5 and 12 in La Plata and King George, Va. Participants must be 13 and younger as of April 30, 2010. Call Tom Clift at 540-226-3897 or Tom Stine at 301-751-9119 to make an appointment.

A Hughesville 10-U travel/select baseball team is forming for the 2010 season and is looking for players. Call Howard Harper at 301-399-0511 or 301-472-1925. 

The Southern Maryland Knights 10-U travel baseball team is in search of a few good players. Players must not turn 11 before April 30, 2010. Call Richie Elder at 301-343-5028.

The Southern Maryland Jaycee Spirit 12-U fastpitch softball select team is in need of experienced pitchers. Call Coach John O. at 240-682-7559 or 301-934-1283.

Cheerleading

The Charles County Lions, Charles County's semi-pro football team, is holding auditions for the Charles County Lady Lions cheer/dance team from 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 9, 15 and 22 at Elite Gymnastics in Waldorf. Registration begins at 6 p.m.

The fee is $20 and participants must be at least 18 years old and not in high school.
