Obama's friends

Friday, Nov. 6, 2009

You can learn a lot about a person by the company they keep.

President Obama's recent czar nominees show just what he is all about, radical and scary. These czars are unelected and are unaccountable to the American people or Congress. They can further the agenda of the president and his liberal advisers in reshaping this nation. These czars along with a failed and ineffective stimulus package, rising unemployment, apologizing around the world, reluctance to strengthen our troops in Afghanistan and a disastrous plan to overhaul health care, continue to show this presidency is getting worse every day.

The resignation of Van Jones as nominee for regulatory czar came from heavy scrutiny based on his radical comments over the past two decades. The nominee for safe school czar, Kevin Jennings, has come under heavy scrutiny given his longtime support of a radical, prohomosexual agenda in schools.

The current science czar John Holdren has written positions stating he once supported coercive population control measures such as forcing abortion and adding sterilants to drinking water. Obama's diversity czar, Mark Lloyd of the Federal Communications Commission, is a big fan of the Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez. Carol Browner is the global warming czar and she was listed as one of the 14 leaders of Socialist International who are advocates of global governance.

Sens. Barbara Mikulski and Ben Cardin both supported the confirmation of Cass Sunstein. Mr. Sunstein supports granting animals legal standing in civil litigation yet does not support an unborn having the same standing. Mr. Sunstein also supports the banning of hunting and encouraging people to eat less meat.

These czars rarely testify before Congress and hide information and their decision-making process behind executive privilege. President Obama campaigned on transparency in government yet his czars do just the opposite. His approval ratings continue to drop and a growing number of those who voted for him are now disappointed in what they got.

"Hope and change" has now become "control and manipulate."
