Friday, Nov. 20, 2009

Four people were arrested on drug charges in a Nov. 17 operation in Waldorf, according to police.

At 6:30 a.m., Charles County sheriff's officers in the community policing unit and the emergency services team executed a search and seizure warrant in the 4600 block of Upton Court connected to a theft and fraud investigation.

During the search, officers found marijuana, crack cocaine, a digital scale, numerous baggies, a .25-caliber handgun and evidence relating to the theft, police reported.

The target of the investigation, Walter Skinner, 19, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of a firearm.

Two other residents, Andre Eugene Cummings, 25, and Charlene Garnett Perry, 44, were charged with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Additional investigation led officers to search an address in the 1000 block of Magnolia Drive in La Plata. During that search, officers found evidence relating to the theft as well as marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police reported.

The resident, Joseph Jones, 19, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officer J. Timko is investigating.
