James Milfred Hayden, 83, Bushwood

James Milfred Hayden, 83, of Bushwood died Nov. 15, 2009, at the Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C.

Mr. Hayden was a farmer and lifelong resident of St. Mary's County.

Born June 26, 1926, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Joseph Oscar and the late Edna Mildred Wheeler Hayden Sr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph O. Hayden Jr. and George Ernest Hayden.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Rosalie Johnson whom he married March 28, 1948, at Sacred Heart Church, Bushwood; sister, Paula Eloise Gibson of Bushwood; and brothers, William Martin Hayden Sr. of Bushwood and Philip Bertram Hayden of Avenue.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. with prayers at 7 p.m. Nov. 20 at Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Nov. 21 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bushwood. The Rev. Francis Early will officiate. Burial will take place at the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Phil Hayden, Desales Gibson III, Chris Hayden, Eddie Hayden, Jeff Hayden and Frankie Wheeler.
