The Board of Education of Charles County will hold a joint legislative brunch with members of the Charles County delegation at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 30, at the Jesse L. Starkey Administration Building in La Plata. The meeting will be televised live on Comcast Channel 96. Charles County commissioners will hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 3 at the county government building, 200 Baltimore St., La Plata. The meeting is for residents from Commissioner District 1 represented by Commissioner Samuel N. Graves Jr. (D). The district encompasses Bel Alton, Benedict, Bryantown, Cobb Island, Hughesville, La Plata, Newport, Port Tobacco and parts of Brandywine and Charlotte Hall. Charles County Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 7 in the county commissioners' meeting room in the county government building, 200 Baltimore St., La Plata. Items on the agenda include a public hearing on the proposed general development plan for the Indian Head Science and Technology Park in Bryans Road and work sessions on the Waldorf Urban Design Study Implementation update and a proposed zoning text amendment that would reduce the minimum square footage of homes that are built in the development district.
