Burglary suspect jailed

A judge ordered Monday that Shawn Randal Schroeter, 40, of California remain jailed in lieu of 10 percent of $150,000 bond on charges of breaking into a Mechanicsville home last month and stealing tools.

Schroeter was charged with first-degree burglary from the Nov. 12 incident at Roger Risner's home, where court papers allege the suspect stole items including two chain saws, a pressure washer, tool set, wet-dry vacuum, stepladder and drill.

The property was taken from a shed and the house located off Three Notch Road, and the missing items were valued at about $1,700, according to a charges application filed by sheriff's deputy Jean Vezzosi. Several of the items later were pawned at a Charles County business.

Court papers indicate that an additional suspect has been developed through the investigation.

Man charged with assault, property destruction

Keith Andrew Breitmaier, 29, of Mechanicsville has been charged through a summons with a first-degree assault last month on his mother and destroying a sliding glass door at the family residence.

Charging papers allege that the suspect threatened to shoot Patricia Ann Breitmaier with a BB gun on Nov. 20 as he was leaving their Golden Beach home, and that he returned two hours later and broke the door.

The woman told law officers that her son seemed to be depressed and angry because he did not have a job, according to a charges application filed by Trooper D.S. Brill of the Maryland State Police.

Burglary, assault alleged in Great Mills

Tercell Javon Blackiston, 21, of Leonardtown was released Saturday on $10,000 bond after his arrest on court papers alleging he broke into an acquaintance's home last month in Great Mills and repeatedly punched her in the face.

Blackiston was charged with committing a first-degree burglary and second-degree assault on Amanda Leshawn Mason during the Nov. 17 incident at her residence off Chancellor's Run Road.

Mason told police that the suspect broke through the back door of her home, kicked in a second-floor bedroom door and beat her before stealing her cell phone off a nightstand, according to a charges application filed by St. Mary's sheriff's deputy Patrick Bowen.
