Hughesville church plans holiday events

The Psalm Singers at Hughesville Baptist Church will host a music program at 6 p.m. this Sunday, Dec. 13, titled "The Best Christmas Present Ever," telling the story of a group of children who have only one week to invite people to a birthday party for Jesus. On Dec. 20, the church's adult choir will present during the 10:30 a.m. worship service a program titled "The Name … Jesus," a Christmas musical. Doll, train exhibit continues at Colton's Point

The 24th Annual Christmas Doll and Train Exhibit at the St. Clement's Island Museum in Colton's Point will continue through Jan. 3. In honor of Maryland's 375th birthday, the theme of this year's exhibit is "Christmas in Maryland" and showcases the official symbols of Maryland. Church plans New Year's Eve dance

A New Year's Eve dance will be held on Dec. 31 at Immaculate Conception Parish Hall, at 28297 Old Village Avenue in Mechanicsville, located off of Route 5 opposite Bert's Drive-In.

Bluegrass concert series continues Dec. 13

The American Legion Bluegrass fall-and-winter series continues Sunday, Dec. 13, at American Legion Post 238 in Hughesville, as the Sons of the American Legion and Jay Armsworthy present country music legacy Ralph Stanley II.
