A cap-wearing robber who demanded money at a Waldorf bank Tuesday might be responsible for two previous heists in Anne Arundel County, according to police.
At about 12:15 p.m., the man entered the Old Line Bank at 12080 Old Line Centre, demanding money from the teller and implying he had a weapon, said Diane Richardson, spokeswoman for the Charles County Sheriff's Office.
The bank employee gave the man money and he left the business.
The man is in his 40s with a slim build, police reported. He is around 5 feet 8 inches tall and was wearing a dark-colored hat with a white logo and a black jacket.
Charles County sheriff's officers are looking into the possibility the suspect is responsible for robberies in other counties, and Anne Arundel County police said investigators believe the same man might have robbed a bank in Glen Burnie on Oct. 29 and one in Crofton on Nov. 6.
At about 1:38 p.m. Oct. 29, a man went into a Northrop Grumman Federal Credit Union and demanded money from the clerk, a press release stated. The teller turned over cash to the robber, who was accompanied by a second man. The men were seen in a tan sedan.
At about 5:07 p.m. Nov. 6, officers went to a PNC Bank after hearing of a robbery. Investigators found that two men entered the bank, and one approached the counter while the other went to a table in the lobby to keep watch. The man at the counter then took out a bag and directed the teller to give him cash, police said.
The teller complied, and the robbers fled the bank on foot. The men are described as being about 6 feet tall. One was wearing jeans, a jean jacket and a baseball cap, and the other was wearing black jeans, a leather jacket and a black cap.
