Dennis Loeffler digs a trench to allow water and dirt to escape the patio of a sitting area behind Calvert County Nursing Center in Prince Frederick during the United Way Day of Caring in September. The United Way joins its member agencies and volunteers with groups that need help with landscaping, building maintenance and just about anything else that comes up.

The sculpture garden hosted its annual Sidewalk Chalkathon through the beginning of August. Visitors could check out a bucket of chalk at the new Arts Building and prizes were awarded for different age groups including adult.
