A Lusby man was arrested last week for new marijuana charges whiling awaiting trial for allegedly shooting someone last November during a drug deal.

Jaquan Marquis Devon Wills, 20, was arrested Aug. 15 after police allegedly found 45 grams of marijuana, including the package weight, and $1,800 after searching his home in Lusby. Wills reportedly told police that he uses his profit from selling marijuana to help pay rent and support his son.

In one of two pending cases Wills has on file, he was accused of shooting a man three times, injuring him last November during a marijuana deal in the Chesapeake Ranch Estates in Lusby.

A motion hearing for this case is set for Sept. 27.

In 2017, Wills pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana and was sentenced to six months in jail with all but one day suspended.

Wills posted bond Aug. 16, and a preliminary hearing for his new marijuana charges is scheduled for Sept. 14.
