Blue Crabs to host food drive
The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, St. Charles High School and the Fieldside neighborhood will host a community Thanksgiving Food Drive through Friday.
“It’s our duty as Southern Maryland’s Hometown Team to help our community, especially as we approach the holiday season,” Blue Crabs General Manager Courtney Knichel said in a news release.
Non-perishable goods may be dropped off 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at St. Charles High School, 5305 Piney Point Road in Waldorf, or 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20 at Regency Furniture Stadium, 11765 St. Linus Drive in Waldorf.

Freedom Hearing hosting food, clothing drive
Freedom Hearing is currently hosting a garment and food drive for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Deadline for Thanksgiving donations is Friday, Nov. 20, while Christmas deadline is Friday, Dec. 18. The company will be accepting canned goods, non-perishable food items, personal care products and cold weather clothing, preferably new socks, hats and gloves

Willing Helpers Society offering Thanksgiving dinner
Willing Helpers Society will host a free pre-Thanksgiving Day dinner for up to 250 people noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at 1002 Washington Ave. in La Plata.
Donations are accepted.
According To The Word Church will also be passing out Thanksgiving baskets to those in need.
