South Potomac Church to hold ‘Living’ Room Coffee House Jan. 17

South Potomac Church will hold its “Living” Room Coffee House beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 17 at 4915 Crain Highway in White Plains. The event features Sevenlove Band playing gospel/funk music and Stevie Prather, a contemporary Christian solo artist. Light refreshments will be served. There is no cover charge, but a love offering will be accepted.

St. Paul’s to host blues concert Jan. 18

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will hold a January blues concert at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 25 Church St. in Prince Frederick. Local musicians will perform pop, gospel, rock, folk and bluegrass songs to chase away the blues of winter. The concert is free to the public; a free-will offering will be accepted to support the church’s Heartfelt program.

Church to hold ReVision service Jan. 18

Churches to hold Santo Niño celebration

Two local churches will host a celebration of the Feast Day of the Holy Child Jesus, Santo Niño, on Sunday, Jan. 19. Private prayers and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will begin at 3 p.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, at 100 Village St. in Waldorf, followed by a rosary at 3:30 p.m. and Mass at 4 p.m. These will be followed by traditional Philippine Sinulog dancing, presentations, fellowship and a potluck at 6 p.m. at the St. Peter’s School cafeteria at St. Peter’s Church, at 3320 St. Peter’s Drive in Waldorf. Church to serve free meal to community

Shiloh United Methodist Church will hold Meals and Hope, a free meal served to the community, from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22, at 7305 Indian Head Highway in Bryans Road.

St. Paul’s to hold seafood feast Jan. 25

St. Paul’s Parish Baden will hold an all-you-can-eat seafood feast from 4 to 7 p.m. on Jan. 25 at 13500 Baden Westwood Road in Baden. The menu includes steamed shrimp, fried oysters, baked haddock, fried chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, green beans, hush puppies and beverages. Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door, $10 for children ages 7 to 12 and free for children ages 6 and under. There will also be a 50/50 raffle; participants need not be present to win. Churches seek young adults ages 18 to 25 for paid internships

Mount Sinai AME Church, in collaboration with the Interfaith Partners of the Chesapeake, are looking for young adults between the ages of 18 and 25 for paid internships. Applicants must be seeking green careers in fields such as environmental science, oceanography and agriculture. Participants will work full time at selected host sites across Maryland and receive extensive leadership and professional development training as well as a paid stipend funded through the Chesapeake Bay Trust. Seventh-day Adventists add prayer mailbox

The Pisgah Seventh-day Adventist Church, at 5830 Bryans Road, announced that a prayer mailbox has been placed at the edge of the property for anyone with a prayer request. A bench is there and all are welcome to sit, meditate and/or drop a request to be prayed for. Requests will be added to the church’s 6 a.m. prayer line for daily prayer as well. The box will be checked often during the week.
