Waldorf man attempts to murder ex

The owner of the residence, the victim, was in her bedroom around 1 a.m., when Black showed up, uninvited, according to Charles County District Court documents. Black and the victim had been broken up for a year, the victim told Coulby. The victim stated she was unsure how Black got into the residence but informed Coulby that Black was not invited over or into the residence.

Allegedly, upon entering the victim’s bedroom, Black said, “This is it for me and you, I got three bullets, one for me, one for you and one for that [expletive].”

Black allegedly put the gun to her temple and pulled the trigger three separate times, but the gun did not go off. The victim told police Black told her “The next one is it,” before allegedly pulling the trigger again.

Black and the victim heard the officers outside of the residence on the loudspeaker.

“You really called the police on me?” Black said, according to court records. “Now I’m really gonna end it. Then I’m going out there with a knife so they do me.”

The victim said Black said goodbye to their children and dogs before walking upstairs to look out the front window. “You really called the police, I’m going out with a bang,” Black said before he began rolling around on the floor, freaking out, the victim stated.

While Black was rolling around, the victim escaped through the front door.

Black came out shortly after the victim and was taken into custody.

The victim described Black’s gun to deputies as a small revolver, informing them of where in the house they might find the gun. During the search, Cpl. Alpert located the gun behind some loose insulation, loaded with one round at the time of recovery. Officer Bourgeois observed the two additional rounds Black referenced in an open backpack in the room where the incident occurred.

Black was taken to the Charles County Detention Center and was ordered to be held without bond pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for Nov. 27.
