A walk to remember

Sonya Amartey, a walk manager, left, and Tawana King, a volunteer for the adjusted Walk to End Alzheimer’s that encouraged participants to walk in their own neighborhood, set up the the Promise Garden at the La Plata Town Hall which features orange flowers for someone who cares about the cause, yellow flowers for someone who is a caregiver, purple flowers for those who lost someone to the disease, a blue flower for someone with dementia and a single white flower that represents an eventual survivor of Alzheimer’s.
