Children's Aid dishes out Thanksgiving
Children's Aid Society volunteers packed and distributed Thanksgiving dinner baskets for needy families Nov. 26 in Waldorf.
Bags of canned goods, macaroni and cheese and more stood ready to go Nov. 26 for families picking up their Thanksgiving baskets from the Charles County Children's Aid Society. Every year, the Waldorf-based nonprofit organization donates 250 dinners with all the fixings — from the turkey to the pie — to the county's needy families. Board chair Pamela Vahle said that while they had some problems getting fresh produce this year, they were still able to give away all the meals to families in financial need.
