Arthur R. Payton of Waldorf has been named a Melvin Jones Fellow by Lions International Foundation in recognition of his commitment to serving the world community.
Payton has been a Waldorf Lion since July 2013 and is a past president and club secretary. He has also maintained perfect attendance since he joined the Waldorf group. He recently received a plaque and lapel pin acknowledging his dedication to the foundation’s humanitarian goals.
As a Melvin Jones Fellow, Payton becomes a part of the growing network of individuals who are committed to improving the quality of life for Charles County and communities around the world. Named for the founder of Lions Clubs International, the Melvin Jones Fellowship is the foundation’s highest honor. It is in recognition of commitment to humanitarian service.
