Cole Kern of Dowell will commission into the U.S. Navy from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Saturday, May 19, with a degree in aeronautical engineering. Upon commissioning, Kern will report to Pensacola Fla., for flight school.

Colin Taeschner, a graduate of Calvert High School in 2018 will be inducted into the U.S. Naval Academy Class of 2020 Thursday, June 30, and will begin six challenging weeks of basic midshipman training as part of Plebe Summer.
