Fifty firefighters responded to Monday’s fire in St. Leonard.

State fire investigators have determined a late-night blaze that caused heavy damage to a 1½-story house on Lloyd Bowen Road in St. Leonard was deliberately set.

According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, 50 firefighters responded to the fire at approximately 10:18 p.m. Monday after it was discovered and reported by a neighbor.

It took firefighters 40 minutes to bring the flames under control. No injuries were reported.

A deputy fire marshal’s investigation determined the blaze originated in the front door/foyer area with the preliminary cause listed as incendiary.

Total damage to the house’s structure and contents is estimated at $115,000.

No arrests have been made at this time.
